Environmental Protection

Environmental protection and sustainable use of energy resources are essential aspects of our business policy. We therefore only employ materials which can be used safely without harming the environment and which can be recycled or disposed of safely. Of course, in the process, we are aware of and conform with national and international regulations.

We mainly manufacture our products in the plants of the Zumtobel Group which are certified according to the ISO 14.001 environmental management system. Furthermore, Reiss and Zumtobel are committed to observing strict regulations regarding environmental protection as well as occupational safety and health, which by far exceed legal provisions.

 

Disposal directives WEEE

 

Even though our luminaires have a long service life and only need to be replaced and disposed of after many years, with effect from 13.08.2005, legislators have required EU-wide identification marking for all products that are put into circulation for the first time: the dustbin symbol. We actually adopted this identification marking before this date. WEEE-Reg.-Nr. DE 34921716

RoHS Regulation

The RoHS (Restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances) regulation came into force on 1 July 2006. The underlying EU Directives are Directive 2002/95/EC of 27 January 2003 and Directive 2003/11/EC of 6 February 2003. It goes without saying that all Reiss products conform with these regulations.

REACH Regulation

The new European chemicals regulation, Regulation (EC) 1907/2006, known as REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of CHemicals), came into force on 1 June 2007. Despite being a downstream user, Reiss immediately got to grips with the provisions of this Regulation and guarantees compliance with them.

CE Conformity

Careful design and manufacturing guarantee high safety standards. We therefore provide our products with all relevant national and international conformity marks in the full knowledge of our responsibility towards our customers. We also provide declarations of conformity with current EU Directives for our products.
